Collins Concrete is a ready-mix concrete supplier specializing in commercial, residential and municipal construction in Dallas, Rockwall, and Kaufman counties. With over 40 years experience, the company has established a reputation for quality concrete and service. Fred and Beverly Treffinger took over Collins Concrete April 1st, 1989. Treffinger Inc dba Collins Concrete was born. They started with three trucks and three drivers. Fred was now the owner, tire man, mechanic, plant repair technician, loader operator and dispatcher. Beverly did all the bookkeeping and managed all office related items from their home. This was a tough time in the ready mix industry. In 1988 there were 53 different ready mix companies in Dallas/Ft Worth and in 1989 only 17 had survived. Collins Concrete was one of the 17. Fred used to joke that he was the fastest growing company in the State of Texas because he had added one truck to the fleet when everyone else was parking theirs. Today Collins Concrete has about 50 employees and operates two locations. Fred and Beverly have 5 children, 3 of which work for the business.
